PH Testing Strip

Definition

A narrow piece of sensitized filter paper, composed of various colored dyes, used to visually determine the acidity or alkalinity of an aqueous solution based on color changes.

Things you need to know

The optimum PH for swimming pool water is 7.4. It is necessary to test in order to keep your pool safe and clean and prevent pool equipment damage. The more you use your pool, the more you should test, but 2-3 times per week is a good rule of thumb.

Also known as

PH Indicator Strip, Litmus Paper
